Mommy is slacking!!

I have to apologize for not writing sooner.  We have been one busy family.  Wisconsin, then July 4th activities, Michigan for 13 days, then The Grand Bear.  We were so busy we missed Ronnie's baptism.  YIKES!!  I totally forgot.  TOTAL BUMMER.

On to other news.  You are so steady on those little feet.  Won't be long before you're standing unsupported and then walking.  You can say 'dada', 'mama', 'baba', and 'yeah'.  Your babbling is some of the best conversation I've ever had!  Sleeping has been a bit rough lately.  I think you might be teething.  We still love you, even in our zombie-like state ๐Ÿ˜œ.  You are, otherwise, such a happy girl.  Never stop smiling.  Your smile is a gift.  Momma and Daddy have also started running.  We want to be a good example for you!  I have a severe love/hate relationship with running.  It's so worth it though.  We are feeling great!

I decided to start giving you a little advice here and there.  I don't want to be annoying about it, but I think you'll find that you really do learn more the older you get.  When you are 15, you will probably 'know' everything if you're like your mom.  Hehehe๐Ÿ˜›.  Friends really do come and go, and it's sad.  You really need to hold on to the ones that build you up, encourage you, and appreciate you.  Do the same for them.  You deserve good friendship.  Never trade it for superficial friendships.  If someone hurts you and you've forgiven them once, don't accept the same behaviors.  Love God, and who he made you to be, and the rest is just a bonus.

Okay, enough sappy crap.  I swear I'm cool.  I love you, Munchie. ๐Ÿ’ž

My little big girl.

Finley, you are in such a hurry.  You will be seven months old in 9 days!  You can crawl (and boy are you fast!), pull yourself up, and you say "DADA! " When you are upset you kind of say "mama" - I like to think you do, anyway.

You were so good on vacation.  It took you about a day to warm up to the water, but once you did, you loved it!!  We had a lot of fun.  I can't wait to take you to Wisconsin again!  Next year you'll be able to do more.

We had a play date yesterday with Ronnie and Gabby.  It's going to be so much fun watching you girls grow-up together.

July 12th we leave for Michigan, AGAIN!  It will be your first time at the family reunion.  Can't wait for everybody to meet you.

Well, baby girl, your cousins (Mal, Micaela, Macie, & Mia) are headed over to have a sleepover, and I have cookies in the oven!  You are napping so I can get things done.  Thank you!!

Love you, sweet girl

Almost six months...

Well, we are almost halfway through your first year, baby!  The changes are coming faster and faster.  You can sit up, and you can roll all over the place in any direction.  You can bounce in your chair, and you figured out the walker at Nana and Papa's the second your feet touched the floor.  You are also getting up on your hands and knees and rocking!  Crawling is not far off.  Today I rearranged the furniture in the living room so that you can go where you please!

We got home from 10 days in Michigan last night.  You are so good in the car.  You also had a great time!  You got lots of cuddles in with Nana, Papa, Aunt MK, Uncle Matt, Andrew & Ryan.  Everybody calls you Finn.  I think it's safe to say that is your official nickname.  There are quite a few more, (Finnegan, Finner, etc.) but that's the main one.  I wonder what you'll want people to call you?

We had a very busy/fun trip!  We got to see Ryan and Micaela off to prom, go to Ry's graduation, and his grad party!  We will be back in July - and you'll get to meet my Grandma, your GiGi (hopefully)!

You are sitting in your chair babbling away right now.  I love watching you:).  It is time for you to have a bottle, so I better get moving!  Mommy loves you, baby!

XOXO,
Momma

Mother's Day

Well, tomorrow is a very special day for me. It's my first Mother's Day. At one time, I wondered if I'd ever get to celebrate it as a Momma. I can't wait to have a special day with you and your Daddy! A part of me is feeling guilty for all the women out there who desire greatly to have a first Mother's Day of their own. I remember what that was like. I think about those women often.

I love you so much. I'm looking forward to Mother's Day paintings and handprints. I can't wait for our fridge to be filled with your messy artwork. You are such a joy in my life, Finley Harper. I promise to always hold your hand, and be your soft place to fall. Love you, daughter.
