Well, little miss Finley, you are finally here and we couldn't love you more. Your daddy and I are so happy to have you. We all are!! You are just the cutest, sweetest, lovable baby. Your cheeks are so kissable, they drive me crazy. One of your nicknames is CHEEKS :D. I'm sure you'll hate that one day ;D! You must have been listening to me when I was asking for an easy delivery!! Team work! You really wanted that birthday! 12/12/12 is pretty cool! We will be celebrating Christmas soon at Oma and Opa's. aunt Julie, Uncle Tom, and our cousin Jenny, from Germany will all be there with us (and the regular group - The Wyllie clan). After Christmas Nana and Papa are coming to meet you. Nana feels much better, and just CAN'T wait to snuggle with you. You are so loved. We will always love you. XOXO.

39 weeks & 1 day!!

You are still in there, munchkin :D. I am almost 2 cm. dilated and 50% effaced. Gross, huh? If you don't come earlier, we are scheduled to go in a week from today (Tues 12-11-12) with your expected birthday to be 12-12-12!! How cool. I'll still keep you if you come before.

Your Nana is unfortunately going to miss your big day. She has bronchitis and was in the hospital for nine days. She is just going home today and will need time to get her strength back. Aunt MK was sick too, but she is all better and will be here this weekend if you don't come before. Dad is going to take a week off work to spend with us. I can't wait!!

38 weeks & 2 days!!

Hey, baby girl!

Sorry I didn't post last week! It was a busy one. We had Thanksgiving at your Oma and Opa's, and things have been go go go in preparation for you. Your Nana and Aunt MK are sick and trying to get better before you come. We are all hoping you can hold off just a little bit longer. We had our 38 week appointment today. No 37 week one bc of the holiday. I am 1 cm. dilated which means things are moving along! Try to wait a week or so, but I won't complain if you come before that either ;)

36 weeks & 6 days!!

Well, my little mini finny... tomorrow is a big day! You will be full-term! You can make your entrance at any time. We are so ready for you. I can't wait to look at your face. Mommy and Daddy love you all the way to the moon and back! Keep kicking and we'll see you soon :D

35 weeks & 6 days!!

You are officially due in less than 30 days! UNREAL!! We can't believe it :D! Everybody got to take a peek at you last Saturday. You are (hopefully still!) head down and ready for action! I am not dilated at all, but between last Saturday and this Saturday my cervix has moved down significantly. TMI?? Haha...

We can feel your baby body parts now! Your dad, as much as he loves you, jumps when he touches you and feels a foot or hand pass by. We laugh because it is SO weird, and SO cool.

Your room is ALL ready. We got you a rock 'n play, a highchair, and your very own Minnie Mouse comfy chair for when you are a little older! I think we are ready for you over here!! Now it's just a waiting game. You are gaining an oz. a week in there, so don't stay too much longer :D. One more week and you are a full-term baby!!

You have got me tired! You are sucking all the energy out of me :D. I have a feeling you are going to do that for quite some time! It's okay though, I forgive you now and in advance for sleepless nights. Tomorrow Nana and Aunt MK will be getting here for the weekend! I am so excited! Both of them plan on weaseling their way in to see you on the ultrasound machine on Saturday. I'm sure Dr. Collier will let them :D. We went trick-or-treating with our friends from small group yesterday. I can't wait to take you next year!! You keep moving around in there and I'll keep counting down the days (39!). 33 weeks and 6 days!!

Hello again, Finley!

Time is ticking away here! Not too much longer and you'll be here on the outside with me and your daddy. We can't wait. I am a still bit nervous about your big entrance, but anything to have you in my arms. Nana is going to be here in five days for the last shower in your honor. Yes, we have been totally spoiled!! Oma and Aunt Heidi are throwing it for us :D. After that I will be keeping a low profile. We have to get the house ready and nice and clean for you! After we get our new carpet in I will start scrubbing away until you are ready to exit! You are definitely getting me ready with all these braxton hicks contractions.

We started carrying a doll around to help get the doggies get ready for you. Nobody has tried to eat it yet, so that's good!! I can't wait for you, wrigley, and emery to be BEST FRIENDS! 32 weeks and 4 days!

Well, let's just blame pregnancy brain for forgetting to post last week! Things have been busy (in a good way). The shower for us in Michigan was completely overwhelming. Aunts, great aunts, cousins, and friends everywhere! It was lovely to be surrounded by everyone and their support. We sure are blessed to have so many people who love us! I can't wait for you to meet everyone.

We are getting close to having everything put together and set up in your room and around the house.. Your crib is up (still need the mattress), dresser is put together and FILLED, play yard, and your swing are also set up. It took me over an hour to get your swing figured out. I could have just waited for your dad, but I was determined. Don't worry, it's safe :D.

The countdown is dwindling, miss Finley! You are due in 52 days, and I will be induced in 54 days if you decide to hibernate in there. Feel free to come out anytime AFTER 37 weeks!

We were supposed to see you at our appointment Wednesday, but it got moved to Nov. 3rd. Your nana is THRILLED because she'll be in town for our shower given by Oma and Aunt Heidi. She will be all up in that ultrasound room :D. Can't wait to take a peek at you (think head down, please!) and then meet you shortly after!

30 weeks & 6 days!

Hello, baby! It has been a hectic week (no thanks to my crazy hormones). The big shower in Michigan at Auntie MK's is next Saturday! We are road trippin' with Oma, Aunt Heidi, Micaela, Macie, Mia, and your Daddy in just five days! Should be a fun weekend. So many people are looking forward to celebrating YOU! Next week we are going to have your room all ready for you. I can't wait.

You must know that I'm writing to you because you are moving like crazy. Keep it up and keep on growing in there. Next Dr. appointment and we'll get to look at you! Your Dad and I love you like crazy and can't wait to fight over holding you. Can't wait to tell you about the shower! XO!

29 weeks & 3 days!!

Well, it has been an exciting week. Your dad and I went to the ER because I was having some pain by my right rib and feeling dizzy. The good news is there is no preeclampsia (that's what we were worried about) - in fact, I have ridiculously good blood pressure :). They had you on the fetal heart monitor and you were showing off. You were going crazy in there!! We could hear not only your heartbeat, but every time you moved and kicked me. It was pretty cool, actually. We also got a preview of labor and delivery - you are gonna be born in style. You have made it a bit difficult for walking... after about 10 minutes you start to feel like a ton if bricks! I guess it's just the final lap! Even though I think you may come a little early, cook as long as you can!! We love you... it's feeling more real now! WE GET TO MEET SOON :)

28 weeks and 3 days!!

Hello there, little girl :). Hope you're enjoying your last weeks on the inside. We are trying to get everything ready for your arrival. Auntie Sam threw us our first shower and you got lots of great things! You'll be all set for bath time for the next 6 years, and you have a new blankie, bottles, clothes, diapers, and some picture frames for us to display your cuteness! Daddy finished painting your room, and is almost done with the playroom. We had to take a break because we are a little under the weather. Mostly dad, he stayed home from work today. You are moving A LOT, and have a body part (maybe your foot?) lodged in my rib on the right side :). I think you like it there! 81 days until your due date, so we'll see you in 82-83 days at the latest! How exciting and terrifying! We love you, kid. <3

26 weeks & 4 days!

Sorry I didn't write last week! Your dad and I were house and dog sitting for Oma and Opa. We had our monthly appointment Monday, and we're still looking good! Passed the glucose test, but I did get put on extra iron because you're sucking it out of me :D! We are in the home stretch! We'll be going to the doctor every two weeks now, then at 35 weeks it will be every week until you arrive. I can't believe how fast this is going! You are kicking me right now, and all I can think of is getting to see your face!! Dad and I are going to be painting your room and playroom this weekend. I hope you like it! We love you, Finley. I can't wait to share our lives with you.

24 weeks & 4 days!!

Hello there, little girl! Well, we made it to 24 weeks; another milestone! Keep on growing!! It's time to work on those lungs of yours :D. You sure keep me hungry... so I'll keep on shoveling in the nutrients for you. The glucose test wasn't as bad as I was anticipating. Haven't heard anything from the doctor yet, and we'll only get a call if we failed. I think we are just fine! Dad and I had a big garage sale last weekend to make some room for all of your stuff! I can't wait to have this house filled with everything baby! We love you, Finley Harper <3.

23 weeks & 3 days!!

Hey, baby!

Well, another week has gone by. Last weekend we scored the jackpot on some clothes for you. I can't wait to dress you up!! We have so many outfits you may need to wear 2 or 3 a day ;D. You were awfully quiet in there yesterday, but dad saved the day and played his guitar. Maybe you'll be a musician! You can be anything you want to be, but remember HAPPY is the most important. Make sure you give me extra kicks today, okay? I love when you kick. We are going to get our glucose test next Wednesday. Keep your little fingers and toes crossed! I have to drink a yucky sugary orange drink... NOT looking forward to that, but you are worth it! I love you, little one.

22 weeks & 3 days!

Hello, Finley -

Well, you sure have quieted down in there a bit.  Now you only kick when you want to, not when I want you to :D  You seem to respond a lot when your dad plays guitar.  When I freak out because I think you haven't kicked enough that usually does the trick!  Our last Dr. appointment was on Monday and everything is still lookin' good.  We have to go get a glucose test in a little over a week to check for gestational diabetes.  I'm sure we'll be just fine!  I am starting to really think about your big entrance.  I am a little nervous, but I can't wait until you're here!  I can't stop thinking about what you'll look like.  You see, all the kids on your dad's side of the family look like Bredesen's -- your cousins Macie and Jarred actually look A LOT like your dad.  However, the babies in my family (nana's side) look a lot like your nana (and me)... so I guess we'll see who's genes dominate.  We definitely would put money on it that you'll have blonde hair.  I still do, and your dad did when he was little.  Everything else is up for grabs!  We know you're going to be beautiful either way <3.  Keep on cookin' little one!!!  LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!

21 weeks & 4 days!

Hi, Finley!! Well... after being (overly) paranoid about not feeling you move much yet, you decided to put me at ease and start kicking... A LOT! Yesterday I felt you a bunch after I ate lunch, and right before bed. Your daddy could even feel you dancing around in there! This morning I took a bath (don't worry, the backaches are worth it!) and you were kicking away! It's so lovely to feel you in there. You weigh about 1 lb. now, and are able to hear more. Your dad started playing the guitar for you! He can't wait to teach you how to play. I wonder if you'll be a lefty like him? Tonight I am going over to your Auntie Sam's to start planning a shower in your honor :D. I can't wait to have your room ready, and YOU in it! Keep growing and keep kicking! LOVE YOU, baby girl.

We named you today.

So, today we found out you were a girl. I couldn't help but smile the whole time we were watching the ultrasound. We saw you moving around and we saw your fingers and toes. The doctor even gave us a 3D picture of your face. I think you look like your mom. I guess I'm going to be keeping the boys away with a stick. I'm looking forward to all the challenges of having a little girl and I hope that I learn a little bit more about being a man. I can't wait to meet you. I Love You.

IT'S A GIRL!! 20 weeks & 3 days.

Today was incredible.  Your dad and I got to see you, and we can already tell you're going to be a beauty.  You were stubborn at first and didn't want to give us a profile shot, so we got to look at the top of your head and your little arms and legs dance around for a long time.  I could watch you all day, everyday.  You are such a tiny miracle.  It wasn't until about 10 minutes into the ultrasound tech recording all of your measurements that she said you were a girl.  I could have SCREAMED, but I controlled myself and just went with a permanent smile.  The tech (I wish I could remember her name, but I was just too busy looking at you) told us to not tell the Dr. you were a girl to see if they both came to the same conclusion.  It was like a game for the Dr.!  When she could see the goods, she said very confidently "GIRL!"  I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!!  I am so excited to go shopping and register for LOTS OF PINK THINGS!  We love you, and we can't wait for you to join us on the outside.  LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU, LITTLE ONE!  Keep growing, see you soon!

19 weeks & 3 days

Hi, baby! In one week you will be officially named. I can't wait to see you and hear that heartbeat again. Your dad and I just got back from visiting Nana, Papa, Aunt Marikay, Uncle Matt, Ryan & Andrew. You went too, of course :D. There is still much speculation of your gender. Mia decided today that you were a boy, but she also asked if you were in my mouth. I don't know how credible that makes her ;). You are about half done in there and we can't wait for you to join us out here. Love you, little one.

So, it's going to be at least 5 or 6 years before you read this and even longer before you really understand it. The way things change so quickly now, you'll probably be reading this on your HUD. We find out if you are a boy or girl next week and I can't wait to know so we can start getting your room ready and buying clothes. I've waited for this for a long time and when I look back I'm glad that you came when you did. I'm a bit of a late bloomer and your mom has really helped me see outside myself so I can take great care of you. I want you to know a bit about what I was like before you were born.

Besides you and your mom, my life is music. I'm in a band called Jumpseater. I'm also working on making my own solo record(when I get a little free time). Your mom always tells me to stop tapping my fingers because I always have a song idea in my head. My favorite band is Jimmy Eat World. Mom says you really respond to them in the womb. I hope that continues. 

Well, you're mom is tired from carrying you around all day, so it's time to get home. I love you.

17 weeks & 3 days!!

Only 4 more days until your next Dr. appointment! I can't wait to walk out of there with the ultrasound order form! It's going to be hard to wait to find out your name, but we are heading to Michigan to see Nana, Papa, Auntie MK, Uncle Matt & your cousins Ryan & Andrew!! MAYBE I will get lucky and be able to schedule the ultrasound before we leave! Cross your little fingers & toes!! Are you going to be FH or HB?! The anticipation, though fun for some, is killing me :D. We have been waiting for you, and this is one step closer to holding you. YOU ARE SO LOVED, baby. 16 weeks & 3 days :D

Hello, baby! We are well on our way now. You are about the size of my open hand, and you give me butterflies multiple times a day. There is much debate on what you'll be - boy or girl?! here's the breakdown: girl - mom, dad, Micaela, Macie, Aunt MK; boy - Nana, Papa, Oma, Opa, Aunt Heidi. The rest are unsure... well, we are all unsure and will love you whatever the good news is!! Your dad and I play you music at night. They say classical music is the way to go, but we are too hip for that! Instead you get Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab For Cutie, Taylor Swift, Switchfoot, and we do throw in some classical. You seem to respond the most to J.E.W. - makes your daddy proud!! We heard your heartbeat at 14 weeks and it was INCREDIBLE. I still play it over and over. Hang in there - we will see you at 20 weeks! We are looking forward to calling you by your name... LOVE YOU, BABY!

8 weeks!

Today marks 8 weeks pregnant! We have only known about you for 16 days. It has been the best 16 days of my life. Even though I can be a bit paranoid and worried (i am good at that) I have nothing but positive thoughts for our future. I would be lying if I said I wasn't impatiently waiting for the 12th week marker! It took what seems like FOREVER for us to get here, and I have to remind myself to enjoy each moment as it comes. Your dad and I saw you for the first time on April 20th. You were just a tiny (7.3 mm) cluster of cells! The most amazing thing is that we could already see your heartbeat!! There are so many wonderful people waiting for you out here! Take your time & we'll see you around December 10th! Can't wait to see you again :D
